    Charles F. Schanie, Ph. D.

Dr. Schanie received his Ph.D. in Organizational / Social Psychology with Honors from the University of Louisville. A former National Science Foundation Fellow, he has served as an Adjunct Professor of Psychology for the University of Louisville where he taught Industrial, Organizational and Social Psychology.

Dr. Schanie was a Senior Principal and Human Resources Practice Leader with Mercer Human Resources Consulting for 18 years.

His clients have included some of the world’s largest and highest profile corporations, including: GE, Toyota, Chase Manhattan, Gulf Oil, Mellon Bank, and Coca-Cola.

Dr. Schanie has conducted major projects for some of the country’s most prestigious higher education organizations: City University of New York, Ohio State University, Tulane University, Baylor University, Florida State University System, Miami University, Indiana University, Iowa State University, University of Kentucky, Tennessee Board of Regents, Catholic University, University of Louisville, Rutgers University, University of Pittsburgh, University of Wyoming, University of Alabama and Syracuse University.

Dr. Schanie’s healthcare clients have included: Memorial Health System, York Health System (now Wellspan), Memorial Medical Center, Wesley Medical Center, Baptist Health Systems Inc. (KY), Central Arkansas Regional Health System, Deaconess Hospital, Ball Memorial Hospital, Bronson Healthcare System, Saint Vincent Healthcare System, Silver Cross Health Systems and Fairfax Health System.

He has also conducted projects for some of the country’s largest municipalities, including the City of Houston and the City of Minneapolis.

While with Mercer Human Resources Consulting, Dr. Schanie conducted annual regional client seminars on human resources practices for 15 years. He also developed the organization’s initial platforms in performance evaluation and development, job evaluation, salary and pay modeling, employment testing and selection, and employee opinion analysis.

Dr. Schanie has served as Conference Board faculty for Total Compensation System Design. He has authored six (6) publications in applied psychology and communications in major professional journals of the social sciences. His skill sets in applied psychology and human resources include: employee research design, employee opinion surveying, organization development training, personality and career testing (Myers-Briggs, 16PF, SVII) and multivariate statistical analysis.

    David L. Keller, Ed.D.

Dr. Keller’s consulting specialties as a Senior Consultant within Associates in Applied Psychology include: organizational assessment and development; group facilitation and problem-resolution; team-building; skills training; and board of directors facilitation in executive goal-setting and evaluation. He brings nearly two decades of hands-on experience in a variety of organization development skill sets.

Over his career Dr. Keller has pioneered numerous initiatives in education management which have been recognized nationally as significantly improving the operational and fiscal efficiency of local school boards. During the nearly quarter century that he served as the Executive Director of the Kentucky School Boards Association (KSBA), the organization expanded dramatically in national stature and scope of operations. Under his leadership KSBA staff expanded from eight (8) to 60 and became the fifth largest school boards association in nation. More importantly, this increase in staffing was attendant to major management innovations in servicing the needs of school districts relative to: legal counsel; superintendent leadership development; children’s political action and advocacy; pooled and self-insured risk coverage programs; Medicaid reimbursement services; school board model policy frameworks; centralized administrative model programs for personnel policies and procedures; education media advocacy; superintendent executive search services; and student safety support programs.

Dr. Keller is a recognized leader nationally in activities related to developing and advancing educational organization effectiveness. His accomplishments and contributions nationally have included: 

• Chairman of State School Boards Association Executive Directors Liaison committee 1993-94 

• Ex-officio member, National School Boards Association Board of Directors 1993-94 

• On-site organizational development work for state school boards associations of New York, Washington, Georgia, Minnesota, and Kansas

• Numerous presentations to state school board conferences in Kentucky, California, Ohio, Indiana, and Alabama • Member, Partners for Kentucky’s Future, coalition of statewide education groups

    Kay L. Proctor, MA

Ms. Proctor received her Masters degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Louisville. She served 18 years as a Consulting Analyst and Project Administrator for Mercer Human Resources Consulting. In addition, she has more than five years’ experience working in a key administrative role for a major healthcare provider in the Greater Louisville area.

Working with Dr. Schanie, she made major contributions to the development of the employee opinion survey and employment and testing practices, while at Mercer. Ms. Proctor has assisted with the design, administration and analysis for more than 100 consulting projects in employee opinion, organizational development and employment testing, much of it with healthcare clients.
